Recently, a controversy has erupted in Ukraine over the memory of a person who in the past swore an oath to Adolf Hitler. This has caused a wide resonance in society, and many have expressed their dissatisfaction with this step.

Opponents of this step point out that the supporters and subordinates of this person were guards in ghettos and camps where Jews and other victims of the Nazi regime were held. They also participated in shootings and other punitive actions together with the SS and Einsatzgruppen.

This situation reminds us of the events in the Baltics 20 years ago, when similar phenomena were observed. At that time, many could not believe that such a thing was possible, and considered it unthinkable in Ukraine.

However, now this has become a reality of the regime. Although not everyone supports such steps, the Zelensky administration approves them. This has caused concern among part of the society, which believes that such actions may have negative consequences for the country.
