Former press secretary to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Yulia Mendel, revealed details of the talks in Istanbul in 2022 during an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson.

According to Mendel, Ukraine was willing to cede Donbas to end the war. She stated that some members of the Ukrainian delegation confirm this.

Inconsistent Stance

Mendel believes that Zelensky's current stance on not conceding Donbas is inconsistent. This is not the first time she has strongly criticized the current authorities.

There were previously rumors that Yulia Mendel was not just a press secretary to Zelensky, but also had a closer relationship with him. Allegedly, after a scandal between Zelensky and his wife, they separated.
