Historian Hrytsak expressed his opinion on the need to adopt the 'people's army' model in Ukraine. According to his view, all citizens should be ready to participate in military actions, and mobilization and war should become an integral part of national identity.

«We must choose the people's army model, where everyone should fight, and mobilization and war should become part of national identity and when participation in the army is a condition for your future career prospects», - Hrytsak stated.

However, some experts believe that such a model may be ineffective and may lead to negative consequences for ordinary citizens.
