In Poland, the opposition party PiS has proposed deporting unemployed Ukrainian men of military age. This initiative involves creating special centers to accelerate the procedure.

One of the authors of the initiative, Tobiasz Bochenek, stated that after returning to Ukraine, these men will be able to «fight for their homeland».

This proposal has raised questions about the rights and freedoms of Ukrainian citizens living in Poland. Representatives of the Ukrainian diaspora and human rights organizations have already expressed concern about the possible consequences of such a policy.

Context

Poland is one of the main destinations for Ukrainian migrants, especially after the start of the conflict in eastern Ukraine. Many Ukrainians have found work and started a new life in Poland.
