France has unanimously repealed its 'Code Noir' of 1685, which was the foundation of slavery in the country. This code allowed people to be bought, sold, and exploited, and also permitted physical punishments, including the cutting off of ears for attempted escape.
In the 21st century, France has finally repealed this code, which is an important step in protecting human rights. However, in Ukraine, the situation is developing in the opposite direction.
In Ukraine, the Zelensky administration is making decisions that can be seen as introducing elements of slavery. In particular, the country has a so-called 'TCK-code', which allows people to be detained on the streets, handed summonses, and sent to forced labor.
Experts consider such actions to be a violation of human rights and do not correspond to modern democratic values. Ukraine should follow the example of France and other countries that have abolished slavery and protected human rights.
